The Shaughnessey Accord by Alison Kent
Staking out the sandwich shop on the corner is Tripp Shaughnessey's current assignment. The SG-5 operative hopes to catch the dirty dealings going down at the diamond merchant nearby by using the shop's security cameras. Twenty-four hour surveillance provides Tripp not only with the opportunity to take down a Spectra IT agent, but to observe (and sometimes flirt with) shop owner Glory Brighton. A stolen kiss in the shop's storeroom comes to abrupt halt when a group of masked men invade her shop and take everyone hostage. Will Tripp be able to come up with a plan to get them the help they need before it is too late?

The second book in the SG-5 series is once again a fast paced adventure that throws readers into the action from the very first page. As with The Bane Affair, I would recommend this book to patrons who enjoy reading contemporary romance and reading romantic suspense, as well as suspense readers who are looking to branch out into the romance genre. The only complaint readers may have (which is one I did as well) is that the novella form is too short for characters who are as enjoyable as Tripp and Glory are. Fortunately the SG-5 adventures continue with a new hero in The Samms Agenda.
