Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris
Sookie Stackhouse has always been the odd one in her family. She is no longer alone. With the coming of the full moon Sookie's brother will change into a were-panther for the first time. While Jason embraces this transition, Sookie is still unsure of what it will mean for him. Her concern doubles when it appears that a sniper is picking off the local changeling population one at a time, and her brother is soon suspected of being the sniper. With no else able to help, the task of discovering who is murdering the changeling population falls to Sookie. And in this instance it isn’t just a matter of saving her friends lives, it is a matter of saving her brother’s life and clearing his name as well.

The fifth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series picks up close to where Dead to the World left off. This novel does an excellent job of laying the foundation for where the series may be headed next. As with the earlier titles in this series, I would recommend this book to mystery readers, readers of paranormal fiction, and fans of alternate reality. I do recommend that readers who are interested in reading this series start from the beginning with Dead Until Dark.
