Club Dead by Charlaine Harris
Sookie Stackhouse has been in trouble before, but this time she may be in way over her head. When her boyfriend Bill is kidnapped by a vicious vampire, Sookie learns that the task of rescuing him falls to her. With the help of Eric and a werewolf named Alcide, Sookie heads off to Club Dead, a hangout for the uber-elite in vampire society. All is not what it seems however, and the trouble Bill is in is nothing compared to the trouble he is in with Sookie when she finally locates him.

The third book in the Sookie Stackhouse series is just as strong as the first two (Dead Until Dark and Living Dead in Dallas), and in many ways is a turning point for Sookie. This is a great selection for all mystery readers, as well as readers of paranormal fiction. Readers who enjoy alternate realities may enjoy Club Dead as well. I highly recommend readers who are interested in reading this series start from the beginning. Sookie's adventures continues in Dead to the World.
